Of the many types of acquired progressive facial hemiatrophy, there are some that bring depression transformation mainly around the cheek area. Until now, to improve the condition of disfiguration, skin dialect transplantation has been performed, but the drawback was that a big scar is left on the face and the donor area.
At Cellport Clinic Yokohama, we have performed CAL soft tissue augmentation procedure (*) on several cases of depression transformation, and had earned great results.
As the wanted monitor of the year 2008, we are looking for about 10 patients who have Romberg syndrome or Erythematodes.

- Patients who have already been diagnosed as having a progressive facial hemiatrophy (Romberg syndrome) or erythematodes, or patients who suspect that they may have such diseases.
- Patients who have depression transformation on the face, and are looking for a way to improve the condition.

- Patients who can visit the clinic regularly after the operation. (As a general rule, we perform consultation and examination on the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 12th, and 24th months from the operation)

- In case of patients who are taking steroid internally, they may be asked to lose weight before the operation.
- From the monitor patients, photos will be taken for academic reasons such as academic conference or thesis, but full consideration will be taken for any achieved personal data.
*CAL soft tissue augmentation procedure is a highly advanced medical technology using stem cells inside the fat tissue. The liposuction is performed on the abdomen or thighs, and stem cell extraction is processed in a special facility called Cell Processing Center (CPC). The extracted stem cells are mixed with the fat, and transplanted into the sunken area. After the transplantation, the stem cells are not only differentiated into new fat cells, but they secrete material that help the forming of new blood vessels, so compared to the normal fat transplantation, very high treatment effect can be achieved. This is why the soft fat in the sunken area can survive.
