  • 1.Is it possible to have the CAL tissue augmentation procedure after having breast removal surgery?
  • With the CAL tissue augmentation procedure, the patients who had a total mastectomy or a procedure to remove the whole breast can also expect improvement. However with this procedure, as only a limited amount of fat can be transplanted at a time, the larger the removed tissue is, the more difficult it is to reconstruct a breast with the same size of the healthy breast you have. Whether this procedure is appropriate for you or not depends on your physical conditions, so we recommend that you consult a doctor at our clinic. Before or after the counseling, you also need to ask your doctor who has been in charge of your breast cancer treatment about the timing of having a breast reconstruction procedure.

  • 4.Will I feel pain? How long does the pain last?
  • In some cases, pain, similar to the strong muscle pain, may last for a few days to 2 weeks in the liposuctioned area.
The lipo-transplanted area might be swollen and cause pain for several weeks.
How long such pain and swelling last varies among individuals, but it will be gradually eased.

  • 5.Can I have the operation on the same day I have a counseling?
  • We are sorry but we cannot perform the procedure on the same day you have a counseling. Because we place great importance on the safety of the procedures we provide, we ask you to have a preoperative examination, and it takes time before you receive the results.

  • Although it depends on individuals or the areas where fat was suctioned, the internal bleeding usually become inconspicuous in about 1 to 2 weeks. The swelling will last for 2 to 3 weeks.

  • 10.If I have the operation, will I have difficulties in detecting breast cancer in the future?
  • In the normal lipo-transplantation procedures, suctioned fat is transplanted in a clump, and therefore, in some cases calcification occurs in the transplanted fat. As this calcification comes out in mammograms, it has been reported that it could be mistakenly recognized as breast cancer. However, with the advancement of mammography and the improvement of diagnostic techniques of breast surgeons, nowadays it is possible to discern fat calcification and breast cancer on the mammograms, and there are few cases that the patients who had the operation have difficulties in breast cancer detection. As for breast cancer detection, besides mammography, various methods including ultrasound and MRI have been developed, and these methods are being refined each day.

  • 15.Can I have an operation for my nipples and areolas?
  • Yes, the operation is possible.

  • 17.Even after having stem cells injected into my breasts, will my breasts become smaller as I get older?
  • After injecting stem cells, the tissue that survives in your breast(s) will become part of your body. Therefore, they will naturally become smaller as you get older. This is very natural development.
On the contrary, in the case of breast augmentation with artificial fillings, such as silicone gel-filled implants, although your body will change with age, those implants will not change. Therefore the shape of the bags will become unnaturally conspicuous, as you get older.

  • 18.How long can I keep the implanted silicone bags inside my breasts?
  • Generally, if you keep the implanted silicone bags for a certain period of time, a capsule might be generated (the silicone bags are recognized as alien substances inside your body, and the scar tissue or capsule will form around the bags), making the breasts hard to the touch, and in some cases, displacement of the bags or distortion of the breasts also may occur.
In addition, as your body becomes thinner with age, the silicone bags will become conspicuous. Therefore there are many people who have had these bags removed. For more information, please click here.
