Ms. K.J (in her early 40's, Japanese, reconstruction after breast conservation surgery and radiation therapy)
- What made you decide to have an operation at Cellport Clinic Yokohama?
-
An acquaintance of mine introduced me to the monitor system.
- How did you feel before having the procedure, or on the day you had the procedure?
-
Since I haven't had any experience, I was indeed interested, but I couldn't help being scared about it. Anxieties like, "What would they do on the operation day?" or, "Wouldn't it hurt?" were making me worried.
But I had become to hate my body, and I feel that the hope of the breasts becoming like before, or even becoming better than it was before, softened the anxiety I had.
- Tell us about changes made in your body and feelings after having the procedure.
-
My body was hurting yet after the operation, so I was hoping for the swelling to disappear. By the time it stabilized, I was happy knowing that I will be able to visit the Japanese hot springs.
With what I wear, it is possible to cover up as much as possible, but still, I am glad emotionally, that I have done the operation.
- What did you think about the atmosphere of the clinic?
-
It is beautiful and of high quality. I feel at home, with its calm atmosphere.
- How were the attitudes of the doctors and staff?
-
Everyone is nice, and I thank them all.
- Please give some advice to people who plan to have the same procedures or those who hesitate to have an operation.
-
No matter what people say, breasts are women's symbol. The emotional shock when I lost it was unbearable. I can finally say that I had breast cancer, in past tense, with the joy I felt on being able to put on a bra normally.
