Ms.Y.U ( middle 20's, Japanese, standard proportion)

  • What made you decide to have an operation at Cellport Clinic Yokohama?
  • Ever since my high school years, I felt insecure about the fact that my breasts were small. But I stayed so because in order to fix it, it would cost money, and I felt that the fix wasn't necessary. But in time, the plastic surgery began to appear regularly on television or magazines, and with the anxiety toward the operation fading, I started to feel the want for breast augmentation again.

About 2 years ago, I received a breast implant. After the operation, my breasts were indeed bigger, but when touched, there was an unusual tension on the skin, and the implant could be seen when I was lying down. It was painful experience, in fear of being exposed when I went to hot spring with my family or friends or even during the intimate times with my boyfriend.

I had known about the operation performed at Cellport Clinic Yokohama for about 1 year, having seeing it on TV. I thought I never wanted to receive another plastic surgery, but I decided to get it, because I desperately wanted to restore my formal body.

  • How did you feel before having the procedure, or on the day you had the procedure?
  • About one week prior to the operation, I was very much looking forward to receiving it. I gained weight so my body wouldn't be too stressed with the liposuction. I wasn't nervous, and I wasn't scared in any way because I believed that my situation will improve for certain. Although I was not worried about the operation itself, I was worried if it will be possible for me to go back to work or resume my hobby, dancing, after the operation.

On the day of the operation, I arrived at the clinic, was shown to my room, and received an explanation. When I was told that there was an operation on-going in another operation room, I couldn't help feeling relieved with the knowledge that there was a fellow patient. On entering the operation room, I met the nurse in charge of me, which was encouraging. The anesthesia kicked in, and when I opened my eyes, I was back in my room.

I had thought that I will be delighted right after the operation, but I had tubes connected to my back, arms, and urethra, unable to move. My throat was parched, but I was told not to take water for some time. I had to wait in such an uncomfortable, gloomy state, not in the bright mood I had expected to be in.

    Nurse's Comment

Due to the effects from the anesthesia, stomach movement may be weaker than usual after the operation, and the body condition may deteriorate by absorbing water. We have our patients resume drinking water again after 3 hours from the operation and after a check of stomach movement. If the drip infusion in the arm or the tube to the urethra is unbearable, depending on the circumstances, it is possible to take them off. In such cases, please let the nurse know.

  • Tell us about changes made in your body and feelings after having the procedure.
  • Before the operation, with the implant, the breasts felt hard and heavy. When the pectoral muscle moved, the implant would be lifted along with the muscle movement, definitely feeling out of place. At a glance, the breasts were big, but I couldn't bear being seen.

On the day after the operation, my legs felt tired and heavy from liposuction, but starting that night, it was less uncomfortable. I returned to work 2 days from the operation, and I didn't have any problems resuming except for sitting down or getting up, and putting on or off the stockings.

The breasts had the swollen feeling for some time, but in about one and a half month, it became soft as normal breasts. There were soft internal bleedings, which disappeared in about a month. The 2-3 cm scars from where the implant was taken out, feels hard to the touch and it looks contracted when the pectoral muscle moves.

The internal bleedings in my legs were severe, very difficult to hide. Since my work required me to stand for the most of time, the internal bleeding spread out during the first week, and it was difficult even to look at. By the second week, the area of the internal bleeding became small and narrow, but it was still not in the condition to be seen by others. I had no one to talk to, so I had just endured it. In a month, the internal bleeding disappeared, but there still was the feeling of the skin of my leg being stretched out. Also, similar with the general wounds being healed, the liposuctioned thighs became itchy. The skin stretched feeling and the itchiness lingers even after 2 months.

    Nurse's Comment

The scar on the areola from which the implant was taken out, may be hard to the touch and uncomfortable for the first 3 months after the operation. But with the time, it will become soft and unnoticeable.

Also, the itchiness on the liposuctioned area is from the dryness caused by liposuction, which makes the oily substance difficult to reach the skin surface temporarily. With the post-operative examination, we ask our patients to use the moisturizing cream on the market.

  • What did you think about the atmosphere of the clinic?
  • The clinic looked like a beautiful hotel.
Not just the reception desk, but the private room, the hall, the toilet, and the washroom all looked luxurious, and it felt very cozy.

  • How were the attitudes of the doctors and staff?
  • Through the e-mail or by telephone, the receptionists always answered gently and kindly. The consultation with the doctor was very thorough.
Compared to the 10 minutes consultation I had at a different clinic for the breast implant, the consultation at Cellport Clinic took about 1 hour for the generous explanation.

The nurses were also wonderfully nice. The operation was secret to my surrounding people, and I couldn't help feeling insecure, but the nurses listened to my concerns earnestly, and asked the doctor the questions that I could not ask myself. I felt comfortable, and I appreciated their concerns.
They came to see me often during the entire night after the operation.
I can't thank enough the doctor, the nurses, and every one of the staffs.Thank you.

  • Please give some advice to people who plan to have the same procedures or those who hesitate to have an operation.
  • Personally, I think it is best not get a plastic surgery at all.
However little it may be, there still is the stress on the body, and it is not easy to keep it a secret to the people around.

However, if you must receive the breast augmentation, do not select by the price. Understand the operation, imagine yourself 10 years, 20 years from today, and consider whether you can stay satisfied with the operation after the marriage, pregnancy, birth, and old age.

I ended up doing 2 surgeries, but I regret getting the first implant for deciding without giving much thought to it.

You only have one body. Select the path that you will not regret.
