- What made you decide to have an operation at Cellport Clinic Yokohama?
-
I found out about this clinic from the news program [World Business Satellite] on Television Tokyo.
Though it has been distressing me for a while, I feared for the safety of operation done in general plastic surgery hospital, thus not giving actual thoughts for the procedure. But an image I received of breast augmentation on reading the concept, about Cell Processing and Surgical Unit, and the profile of the Medical Director from this web site was different from the one I originally had. With reliable impression as a medical treatment and a medical institution, I decided to make an actual appointment.
On counseling, I received a detailed explanation on the summary of the method of operation, the risks following the surgery, and pre-operative care and post-operative follow up. The struggle I had against getting this kind of medical treatment faded, upon where I decide to take the operation.
- How did you feel before having the procedure, or on the day you had the procedure?
-
The MRI from the specialized institution, and the detailed instructions on how to prepare for the operation helped diminish the worries I had toward the operation, but new worries concerning the everyday routine after the surgery and the effect on emotional perspective popped up. On encountering these problems, I talked to the counselors and nurses who gave their best to solve my worries, and I recall visiting the clinic on the day of the operation without feeling too much burden.
- Tell us about changes made in your body and feelings after having the procedure.
-
As I recall, on the day of the operation, I was showed to a room that resembled luxurious hotel, got prepared as told by the nurse and the doctor, received general anesthetic in a blink of an eye, and then entered the operation.
I remember being in severe pain after the surgery. When I woke up from the anesthetic, I couldn't get any sleep due to the pain and the hunger, and I called the nurse on night duty several times. I can't say I have much stamina, and it might have been too much for me. The night seemed much too long.
Next day, I was immovable. The pain was so severe that there were times I regretted undergoing the surgery. Though I was to checkout by noon, I couldn't move, so I rested until the evening of that day. It was the end of the year, and the fact that the clinic would be closed for a while disturbed me greatly. But I was given a guide about how I could reach the doctor through cell phone and e-mail, and I remember feeling relieved when I received a call from the doctor and counseling by e-mail.
For about a week after, the everyday life was not easy. With leg turning blue and blood collecting, I couldn't help but worry. The counseling by e-mail and telephone calls were a big help until the checkup that was scheduled for a week later. The swelling in legs was heavy from the second to third week after the surgery, but it was almost back to normal after a month. Still, though it was possible to work, I wasn't able to live normally for one month, with bandaging and awkwardly moving due to the pain.
As for my breasts, it seems to have shrunk after the swelling disappeared, but the once cup size AA is now cup size B or C after 2 months after the surgery.
Counselor's Comments
There are patients who will need some time to recover. For those, our clinic provides hospitalizing facilities. If you feel uneasy even slightly, or there is difficulty in moving your body, don't hesitate to call our nurse.
After your discharge, to those who wishes, we can introduce hotels located nearby, so feel free to contact our counselor.
- What did you think about the atmosphere of the clinic?
-
Moderately luxurious without looking gaudy, the space is relaxing. I am grateful for the smiles from the counselors, and I think it helps soften the emotional fear.
- How were the attitudes of the doctors and staff?
-
I have already written above, but starting from the counseling to the post-operative follow up, I'm much obliged for the hospitality from the Medical Director, counselors, and the nurses.
If I may ask for more, an emotional care for the instable patient after surgery would be preferable. Moreover, even with the individual differences, I think it would be better to take into consideration as it was difficult for me to check out by noon the next day.
Counselor's Comments
We have a doctor ready to perform treatment on call, need there be one after the surgery. We also have our nurse on duty through the entire procedure. We will give our advice to soften the fear of the patient. Feel free to talk to us.
- Please give some advice to people who plan to have the same procedures or those who hesitate to have an operation.
-
Different from the image pictured by the reputations and rumors about general plastic surgery hospital and clinics, I believe it to be reliable operation as a medical treatment, though the risk isn't zero.
The stress on body after the surgery is nothing but light, but there is no doubt you will receive an appropriate care even if something goes wrong. You can also talk to them concerning emotional aspects, so if you are wishing for your troubles to soften even by little, I think it is worth giving a thought.
