- What made you decide to have an operation at Cellport Clinic Yokohama?

After breast-feeding two children, I have been giving thoughts about repairing the deformation of my breast and nipples. After searching for a reliable institution, I went through counseling with the Department of Plastic Surgery in University of Tokyo, where I was introduced to this clinic.
- How did you feel before having the procedure, or on the day you had the procedure?

I was nervous. I know it was necessary, but being told about the worst possibilities was hard to endure.
Counselor' Comments
The explanation of the procedure and anesthesia are a doctor's duty. When heard for the first time, I'm sure it could be disturbing to the patients. In such cases, please don't hesitate to talk to our nurses or counselors.
We also have staffs ready to offer counseling by telephone or e-mail. During the operation, our Medical Director, together with experienced doctors specialized in the field, will be responsible for the total management of your body. Relax and give us your full confidence.
- Tell us about changes made in your body and feelings after having the procedure.

Rather than to say breast augmentation, I would say it was successful as a reconstruction operation. It may sound overly self-conscious (since it is a part of the body rarely exposed to others), but it has been frustrating me for several years. By resolving that, I was able retrieve self confidence.
- What did you think about the atmosphere of the clinic?

I found it clean, with calm atmosphere.
- How were the attitudes of the doctors and staff?

Everyone was very polite and kind.
- Please give some advice to people who plan to have the same procedures or those who hesitate to have an operation.

I think it would be more difficult to gain understanding from the family members should there be one, than earn advise. Breast reconstruction surgery may receive an understanding as there is no other choice, but I feel many people would find it unnecessary for the other surgery. Since help from people close are needed for several days after the surgery, my suggestion is to be armed with knowledge, in order to get consent from the family members in advance.

We welcome counseling accompanied by a family member. We have patients coming together with husbands and young children. Don’t be stressed, and together, give us a visit.
