Following the designation of Kanagawa prefecture as a Bio-Medical Industry Special Zone under the Law on Special Zones for Structural Reform, a company has obtained the permission from the Yokohama municipal government to open a clinic on July 29 in accordance with the law. This is the first company that was allowed to run a medical institution under the Law on Special Zones for Structural Reform in Japan.
The name of the clinic is “Cellport Clinic Yokohama" (located in Naka-ku, Yokohama), which will be run by “Biomaster" (located in Naka-ku, Yokohama), a venture company that develops medical technologies associated with regeneration medicine using cells.
Using a biotechnology that increases tissue using “Adipose derived stem cells" - cells contained in fat tissue, the clinic provides breast reconstruction procedures after removal of a breast due to breast cancer, wrinkle removal procedures, and buttock lift procedures to lift sagging regions in the buttocks. These treatments are provided at patients’ own expense.

After the Medical Care Law was enacted in 1948, this is the first time in Japan that a company makes a full-scale entry into a hospital management business.
The company is called “Biomaster Inc.", a venture business located in Yokohama city that runs “CELLPORT CLINIC YOKOHAMA", a clinic specializing in plastic surgery. This clinic uses transplantation technology that was developed through joint research with the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department of the Graduate School of Medicine of the University of Tokyo and performs operations including breast augmentation procedures and breast reconstruction procedures after removal of a breast due to breast cancer.
